Note from file: According to his death record Charles Henry Keeler was married, age 73 yrs 5 mos 4 days. He was a farmer and born in New York City, NY. His family believes he was born in Madison County, New York. However, according to the 1855 New York State Census, he was born in Onondaga County, New York, his father was born in Onondaga County, New York and his mother was born in Vermont. Although census records can be fraught with errors, they are, nevertheless, contemporary records and for that reason are valuable. The family also believed that both Charles' parents were born in New York State. The informant at the time of his death was Charles Keeler, Kendrick, Idaho [son]. Cause of Charles Henry's death was valvular disease of heart which he had for 11 years. According to his obituary he had been ill for 20 years. He was called an "old resident of the Cedar Creek Country" and his disease was called dropsy. He died at home.
