Note from file: In the 1900 Federal census, Elizabeth Keats (Godwin) Keeler's birthplace and that of her parents was given as England. The 1920 census also gives her birthplace as England. This census also said that she was naturalized and had immigrated to the U.S. in 1868. (It gives her age as 52, making her birth year about 1868, however other sources have given the birthdate given above.) The 1920 census record says that her mother-in-law, Sarah J. Keeler immigrated the same year, an error since we have seen Sarah's immigration record for 1851. According to Elizabeth (Godwin) Keeler's undated obituary from an newspaper not named she was born in "Baldenville, N.Y.", probably an erroneous assumption by the informant. Baldwinsville, New York is probably where she grew up. According to family tradition, Elizabeth's family had a tavern in England. She had a sister Gertrude who married Clarence Palmer. Elizabeth died 6 Mar 1951 at Asotin County Memorial Hospital, Clarkston, Washington. She had lived in Clarkston since 1929. Her home was at 731 5th St. Services were at Merchant's Funeral Home, Clarkston, Washington. She is buried at Normal Hill Cemetery in Lewiston, Idaho, the cemetery location Div. 4, Row 27, Lot 27, Grave 11.

Elizabeth married Elmer Henry KEELER, son of Charles Henry KEELER and Sarah Elizabeth COWLIN. (Elmer Henry KEELER was born on 8 Apr 1867 in Baldwinsville, Onondaga Co, NY and died on 20 Apr 1922 in Linden, Latah Co, ID.)
