Notes from file: According the the death certicate of Elmer Henry Keeler he died 20 Apr 1922 at age 55 yrs, 12 mos., farmer, killed during a blasting accident. He had a fractured skull. "His funeral was held at the hill on Cedar Creek Ridge, in the presence of a large crowd. The hall was too small to accomodate all those who came to pay their last respects. After the funeral sermon, the remains were buried in the Linden cemetery... He had a host of friends... He was a man of splendid character and kindly disposition. His death last week cast a shadow of sorrow over the entire community." "Elmer was killed by a blast while working on the road. He and Stewart Wilson had placed four blasts in the road. Three of them went off but as the third one [?fourth one] failed to explode Mr. Keeler walked over to put in another fuse. Just as he got there it went off, killing him almost instantly..." According to Keeler family tradition, the family came on train from Nebraska. Elmer rode with animals to care for them.
