Notes from "Genealogy and History of the Hatch Family, 1925": He went with his father to Tolland, Tolland Co, CT about 1722-23; married at Tolland, Tolland Co, CT, Sarah Stearns, of Tolland, 18 Sept 1840. She was b: 29 Feb 1720 at Tolland. He resided at Tolland until abt 1774, when he moved to Alstead, NH. He having purchased abt 3?? acres of land at that place, about one mile west of the center of town. It was at that time, 1770, a heavy wilderness of timber. He would go up with his sons and chop and clear land in June and part of the summer and return to Tolland for the Winter. ??? did not go there to reside with his family until about 1773-74. He underwent great trials in his pioneer life. His children were all born in Tolland CT and were the ancestors of a great number of descendants. He died at the home of his son, Judah, 6 Mar, 1802, aged 85yrs. His wife d: 25 jan, 1805, aged 84 yrs

Joseph married Sarah STEARNS, daughter of Shubael STEARNS and Rebecca LARIBY, on 18 Sep 1740 in Tolland, Tolland Co, CT. (Sarah STEARNS was born on 29 Feb 1720 in Tolland, Tolland Co, CT and died on 25 Jan 1805 in Alstead, Cheshire Co, NH.)
