Descendant of Lieut. Park Avery and Capt. William Latham, of Connecticut. Daughter of Welcome Arnold Browning and Cecilia Hannah Williams, his wife. Granddaughter of Denison Billings Williams and Hannah Avery, his wife. Gr.-granddaughter of Youngs Avery and Eunice Latham, his wife. Gr.-gr.-granddaughter of Park Avery and Hannah Morgan, his wife; William Latham and Eunice Forsyth, his wife. Park Avery, (1741-1821), served as lieutenant in the New York campaign and was at the surrender of Fort Washington. [p.241] He was a volunteer at Fort Griswold, 1781, where he was left for dead. He was born and died in Groton. William Latham, (1742-92), served in the artillery, 1775, and, 1781, commanded a company at Fort Griswold. Also Nos. 3853, 4171, 5031, 12956, 13089, 18835.
