General Notes:
His will, dated 31 May 1800 and proved 1801, bequeathed to wife Abigail; sons Stephen and Moses; dau. Ruhama and heirs, dau. Freelove and heirs, and the heirs of dau. Abigail; also a grandson Samuel who was to pay a sum to his sister Molly who was not yet 18 yrs. of age. The daus. were identified in the distribution as Ruhamah St. John, Freelove Nichols and Abigail Fancher. Son Stephen received the dwelling house, and a piece of land was to be divided between him and grandson Samuel. (Prob.-Norwalk, 1801,#570).
The estate of Abigail Beers, late of Wilton, deceased, was distributed 11 May 1805 by her administrator, Jonathan St. John. Her few household goods, called "movables", were distributed among her two surviving children and the heirs of the other three; each family also received slightly over one acre of land in a parcel lying "East of Canfield's Island" and mostly described as salt meadow land. Bound by land owned by the heirs of John Nash, it apparently came to her from her father's estate. Her daughter Freelove was called Freelove Beers in the distribution. (Norwalk Prob. Recs., Vol.1,p.81).
Moses married Abigail NASH, daughter of John NASH and Abigail BLAKESLEE, about 1753 in Fairfield Co, CT. (Abigail NASH was born in 1725 in Norwalk, Fairfield Co, CT and died on 2 Apr 1804 in Wilton, Fairfield Co, CT.)
