Abner LADD

Born Connecticut or Vermont.

Notes from Marge Rice-Isabell: There was a woman who descended from Aldis Ladd, daughter of Corrin, who was researching in 1983 trying to find Corrin's parents. She states: Henry Ladd's will 4/6/1768, Coventry, CT states Lemuel as his second son. She has a copy of the inventory of Lemuel's estate and the guardianship papers of Corrin and Abner Ladd, sons of Lemuel and Miriam. Apparently Abner was incompetent. The date she is unsure of but appears to be 11/7/1796 and states that Abner is 21. She states she acquired them from Cheshire Co, NH. Joshua Crane was the guardian. Joshua Crane and Miriam were married 11/10/1790 at Alstead, NH.

Notes from Jeanine Ricketts - I have the burial record for Abner Ladd, son of Lemuel and Miriam (Hatch) Ladd. He is buried in the East Hill Cemetery in Williamstown, Orange County, Vermont. He died on the 21 Dec 1843 in Williamstown at age 70 years, which would place his birth about 1773 or 1774. I obtained the information in 2003 when my husband and I visited Williamstown. Abner is buried in the same plot with Barnabas Delano and his wife Ruth, and their daughter Sophie (Sophia). Near Abner is Abigail, the wife of John Ladd, who died in 1858, at the age of 88, which would put her birth about 1770.
