Barbara Ann Gates 07/20/1928 \endash 12/05/2007

Barbara Ann (Ladd) Gates, age 79, of Springfield, Mo., passed away Wednesday, December 5, 2007, at St. John's Regional Health Center in Springfield, Mo. She was born on July 20, 1928 in North Syracuse, NY and was the daughter of Alan Douglas Ladd and Edith Emma (Eby) Ladd.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Franklin Gates, one granddaughter Deanna Owens, and one grandson Matthew Cook.

She is survived by one sister and three brothers: Shirley Crampton of Tallahassee, FL. Doug Ladd, of Yuma, AZ; Jack Ladd, of Clermont, FL; Merle Ladd, of Tallahassee, FL. She is survived by her six daughters and two sons: Cheryl (Gates) Bohannan of Crocker, MO; Terry Gates of Hartville, MO; Carol (Gates) Owens of Mansfield, MO; Marcia (Gates) Dunn of Lebanon, MO; Janis (Gates) Goodman of Sparta, MO; Patricia (Gates) Redden of Springfield, MO; Nancy (Gates) Crawford of Springfield, MO; and John Gates of Lebanon, MO; 28 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Memorial services will be held at the Walnut Lawn Funeral Home Chapel, 2001 W. Walnut Lawn, Springfield, MO 65807 at 1:00pm on December 10, 2007.

Barbara married Franklin Oliver GATES, son of Maurice John GATES and Grace Catherine WHORRALL-COURBAT, on 31 Aug 1946. (Franklin Oliver GATES was born on 16 Jul 1928 in Syracuse, Onondaga Co, NY, died on 27 Aug 1996 in Hartville, Wright Co, MO and was buried in Hartville, Wright Co, MO.)
