When Urban enlisted in the Wisconsin infantry on 28 January 1862. He claimed residence in Berlin. He served in G Company, 5th Infantry Regiment and was discharged disability on 28 December 1862.
Urban married Clarissa RAWSON, daughter of Anson RAWSON and Frances ISBELL, on 24 Aug 1854 in Lisbon, Noble Co, IN. (Clarissa RAWSON was born on 30 Mar 1835 in Richfield, Summit Co, OH and died in Mar 1895 in Centralia, Wood Co, WI.)
