Notes from John Ladd: In 1831 Ambrose built a house on land he had acquired in Cicero which was about 5 miles from Hastings. In 1832 he returned to Reading, Vermont and married Sarah Davis and brought her to Cicero. After Corrin Milton was born, Ambrose built a house in Hastings, on the land his brother had given him, and moved there. He rented his property in Cicero and also bought more land in Hastings. For several years he continued to work on the canal as well as farm.
