Notes from Warren Ladd: He commenced the study of medicine with Dr John Ladd of Lee, NH; afterwards read with Dr Thomas Sargent of Chester, VT; attended medical lectures at Hanover, NH and graduated at that institution in 1825. He commenced paractice at Morgan, VT where he remaind nine years; removed to Meredith Village, NH in March 1832, and remained there until 1835, when he came to Sanbornton Bridge an was actively engaged in his profession until about 1864, when he removed to Malden.
