History of Winthrop, ME by Everett S Stackpole - Simeon Ladd born 15 Jan 1757, who maried Lizzie Hines of Nottingham, NH. In 1799 he came to Winthropand settled in the southwest part of town, on the south side of the road that leads from Winthrop Village to Harvey's Corner, near where the new road to N Monmouth intersects it. In 1800 he moved to Wayne and four years later returned to Winthrop, where he died 13 Jan 1823. Three children came with him, Simeon, b. 23 Feb 1780; Paul, b. 1793; and Mary.
