John took the Oath of Allegiance May 3, 1681 in Westerly, Rhode Island. He was a grand juror June 12, 1688; appointed to the Rhode Island General Assembly at Newport October 25, 1704, 1709, and 1710; in the Rhode Island militia during the Narrangansett War; and sold to his brother Daniel 100 acres with dwelling house, orchard and meadow which was formerly his father's home farm.
John married Ann LANPHERE before 1684 in Westerly, RI. (Ann LANPHERE was born about 1663 in Westerly, RI and died 2/29/1747 in Westerly, RI.)
