Notes from Warren Ladd: His father died when he was nine years old. He lived with his mother upon the homestead, and as soon as he was old enough had the management of the farm. He was educated in the public schools, and represented the town in the legislature in 1874. He lived on the farm where his father lived, and in the house built by his grandfather, Col Samuel Ladd, abot 1777.
