James Woodward SLOSSON
James and William Emmett went west to enter the mining business. After William death in 1873, James went to Texas where he was in the cotton business, afterward he was General agent for a railroad and lived in Chicago. James as a young lad worked at Rouses Point for Rufus Heaton in the store and Post Office.
