Christian was involved in a controversy with his nephew Rev.Christian Funk over taxes imposed by Congress to support the Revolutionary War. Funk was against paying taxes and was ultimately expelled from the Mennonite Church.

Immigrated bet 1705/1706.There was a community wide migration with Bishops:Henry Funk,and Valentine Klemmer.

Christian married Anna Barbara BERGEY in 1700 in Germany. (Anna Barbara BERGEY was born in 1675 in Pfalz, Palatinate, Germany and died on 18 Jan 1747 in Montgomery Co, PA.)
