Azel (Asahel) FARNSWORTH

Note from Jeanine Ricketts - MARRIAGE: An Azel Farnsworth married Mary C. Miles on 11 October 1869 in Muscatine County, Iowa. This would appear to be the person identified as Polly C. as Mary and Polly are used simultaneously throughout these early records.

RESIDENCE: Resided near Muscatine, Iowa---1840 (Unknown Townships) on the same page with his brother Marshall, 1850 and 1852, Sweetland Township, and 1860 in Muscatine City, Muscatine County, Iowa. In 1880, we find him enumerated with his fifth wife and Spencer Farnsworth in Branciforte, Santa Cruz, California. By way of his various marriages, Azel had 12 children in all. Apparently, he and Hannah must have divorced, as we find her still living alone with her children as of the 1880 Muscatine County census.

Azel married Anne SHEPHERD on 17 Sep 1832 in NY. (Anne SHEPHERD was born on 5 Mar 1810, died on 18 Jan 1848 in Muscatine, Muscatine Co, IA and was buried in Sweetland Center, Muscatine Co, IA.)

Azel next married Hannah SHERFEY on 28 Sep 1848 in Des Moines, Polk Co, IA. The marriage ended in divorce. (Hannah SHERFEY was born about 1816 in PA and died on an unknown date.)

Azel next married Mary (Polly) C MILLS. (Mary (Polly) C MILLS was born on an unknown date, died on 16 May 1971 in IA and was buried in Bloomington, Story Co, IA.)

Azel next married J C FARNSWORTH about 1871 in IA. (J C FARNSWORTH was born on an unknown date and died on 27 Apr 1872.)

Azel next married Almira KELLOG on 6 May 1880 in IA. (Almira KELLOG was born about 1835 in IN and died on an unknown date.)
