Connecticut Families from the New England Historical and Genealogical Register, Vol 1:
Jacob Benton was pensioned in 1818 as a Revolutionary soldier, having had four years service, and was at Burgoyne's Surrender, Oct. 1777. The witnesses in his pension papers say: "A man of veracity, a fine, honorable, honest mand." He lived all his life in Tolland, CT.

Jacob married Sarah LADD, daughter of Jonathan LADD, II and Anna TYLER, on 1 Jul 1789. (Sarah LADD was born on 27 Apr 1760 in Tolland, Tolland Co, CT and died in 1843 in Tolland, Tolland Co, CT.)

Jacob next married Sarah WESTON on 14 Mar 1782. (Sarah WESTON was born on an unknown date in Willington Hill, Tolland Co, CT and died on 23 Sep 1787.)
