Lavina VAN DYCK

  General Notes:

Lavina Van Dyck was identified as the parent of Samantha A. Abbey on the
death certificate of Samantha.
The name Lavinia (Abbey) is on the tombstone in Stone Arabia Cemetery,
who is buried with her husband, Conrad R. Abbey. Conrad is also listed
in the 1850 census as a shoemaker, Onondaga County, Town of Dewitt, page
335. Samantha, their daughter was listed as 11 years old, along with her
siblings; Cornelius 19 years, (idiotic); Charles, 4 years; Victoria, 2
years. Interesting that another Cornelius must have been so named, and
died as a baby, since this one died May 11, 1871, aged 39 yrs., 8 mos, 21
days and was born 20Aug1831. Additional children of Conrad & Lavinia
Abbey listed on a tombstone in Stone Arabia Cemetery are: William H.
Abbey, b. 25Oct1834, d.5Feb1835; Ruben Abbey, b.23May1843, d. 2Oct1844;
The baby Cornelius may also be there, in addition to the Cornelius who
died in 1871, since there were two Cornelius names and when we visited
the cemetery, we did not know of the possibility of two different persons.
