(The Mrs James Elmer listed here is no doubt for Amelia, but she had divorced James and remarried and is buried in Brown Cemetery)

James and Amelia had returned to New York to live, but was injured helping his brother Osias butcher a pig. His injury caused hemorrhaging from lifting and was never well after that. So he brought Polly back to Richland Center to be with her family. ( This info from Gail Huisheere a descendent of James and Amelia)
